If you love the great outdoors, Cairnloch Estate is for you. On the 800-acre organic farm estate, ospreys, tawny owls and red kites share the skies and you might spot wild hare, deer and red squirrels among the meadows and woodlands. If home comforts are just as important, step inside to a fire in the grate and thoughtfully decorated interiors.
You have exclusive use of the manor house, sleeping 10, plus a cosy two-bedroom annex in the rear of the house (see floor plan). Throughout, inviting rooms artfully blend charming antiques with modern comforts. Sipping Champagne kept on ice in antique wine coolers while listening to your favourite tracks on the Sonos speakers, captures the design essence of this homely and beautiful 19th century manor.
In the well-equipped kitchen-diner, with light streaming through the bay window, plan your days over breakfast. On sunny afternoons, sit beneath the pergola or fire up the Kadai barbecue. Later, watch the sun set over the Vale of Strathmore from the drawing room, then cosy up in the snug for a movie and board games. Retire to your bedroom, to be wowed by statement hand-made headboards, luxury linens and spectacular views. The seven bedrooms share five elegant bathrooms.
There’s plenty to do in this unspoilt corner of Scotland; explore the East Coast, visit royal Balmoral, or hike the Cairngorms and Angus Glens. On the estate, meet the Highland ponies when you book a Farm Safari or a Picnic with a Pony, or take a guided walk to discover rare species and natural wonders. What to Expect
We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Cairnloch Estate just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a family group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is ample parking to the side and rear of the house for up to 6 cars. An EV charging point is available on request (small charge).

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Tesco for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Cairnloch Estate. One travel cot and two highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen) as well as plastic cups, plates and bowls (for 4). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times as the house is located on a working, organic farm with livestock and there is also a duck pond and stream on the estate.

Are pets allowed?
Up to four small, well-behaved dogs (two in the main house and two in the annex) are allowed at Cairnloch Estate, free of charge (up to three dogs maximum if larger breeds). Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings.
There is a large garden to exercise your dogs and lots of lovely places to walk on the estate and in the local area. Dog bowls, two large crates, blankets, towels and treats are provided.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Stag parties are not permitted at this property. Respectful hen parties are sometimes permitted, but only with express permission from the property owner prior to booking. Please contact us to discuss.

The dining table in the main house can seat up to 14 guests.

Where is the annex situated in relation to the main house?
The annex is part of the main house (at the rear) but please note there is no access into the annex from within the main house. There are approximately 20 steps from the main house to the annex.

The nearest train station is Dundee (22 miles).

The nearest airports are Aberdeen (64 miles) or Edinburgh (70 miles).

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £600 during your stay at Cairnloch Estate. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
