A hillside hideaway with views of the sea
Set among the trees with glimpses of the sea beyond, Devonhill in Salcombe feels like the most exciting treehouse. As the wooded garden slopes steeply below, the balconies are among the treetops. Large sliding doors sweep aside to capture the full effect. Out on the balconies, you can gather for a barbecue, hide in a hanging seat with a good book, or immerse yourself in the hot tub.
Back in the spacious living area, the décor blends a mid-century Scandi vibe with a nod to the nautical location. This room is big enough to roll out the table tennis and not disturb the movie buffs watching the HD TV at the other end. If they do get grumpy, they can always retreat to the separate sitting room. Meanwhile, the open plan kitchen gives way to a dining area with glass walls, a balcony and sea views.
During the day, cosy up on the sofas around the log burner in the sitting room, hang out in the hanging pods and designer chairs close to the open fire, or sit at one of the tables with your laptop. Later, throw open the balcony doors and it’s party time, blending outdoor and indoor with space to mingle, drink and dance.
Smart bedrooms and bathrooms continue the Scandi-meets-seaside theme, while the treetops outside your window keep the treehouse adventure alive.
If you can tear yourself away, drop down the hill to the harbour for a beachside barbecue at the Winking Prawn, a wander round the harbour to watch the yachts or to make your own gin at the Salcombe Distillery Company.

What to Expect
We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Devonhill just perfect. In all of our large houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 5.30pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am (or 4pm if checking out on a Sunday).

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for 4 cars at the property.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Devonhill. One travel cot and one highchair are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times around the terrace and hot tub.

Are pets allowed?
One well-behaved dog is allowed at Devonhill, subject to a fee of £50. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings and must be kept on a lead in the garden.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Sorry, Devonhill is not suitable for hen or stag parties. We politely ask that this is respected.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Waitrose, Tesco or Sainsbury's for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 5.30pm on the day of arrival.

The dining tables can be set up to seat up to 16 guests.

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,500 during your stay at Devonhill. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
