A picture-perfect, historic country house
Harbin House is a historic and beautiful Somerset manor. Set amidst 62 acres of lush green grounds it’s all yours, whether you’re here for a relaxed family gathering, a special celebration, or a business retreat. The five reception rooms each tell their own story, from the Great Hall and the wood-panelled study to the tapestry mural and magnificent carved wood fireplace in the lounge. Stunning original features like these are at every turn and are complemented with distinctive and comfortable interiors by Jeffrey Bilhuber, an interior designer renowned for his original and sympathetic designs.
Outside, there’s places for socialising and solitude, from the walled garden and large lawns to the wooded areas and the riverbank. Play croquet, go swimming or paddleboarding, or enjoy walks around the estate. Let the children play on the trampoline, take them magnet fishing or organise games on the lawn. For wellness and fitness, spend some time in the newly refurbished studio and gym or head to the annexe games room for snooker, table tennis or table football. Finish the night with a movie in the cinema room before heading to one of the luxuriously appointed bedrooms. Slip on a cosy bathrobe and slippers in your four poster suite, family room or spacious attic room, and enjoy luxury Wildsmith toiletries in one of the grand bathrooms.
Harbin House lies close to Somerset’s border with Dorset. It’s convenient for Bristol and Exeter airports, just two hours from Heathrow, and it has a helipad in the grounds. We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Harbin House just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 3pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 11am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for 20+ cars at the property.

Are pets allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are sometimes permitted, but only by prior agreement with the owner (subject to a charge of £50 per dog). Please call us before booking to discuss.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Harbin House. Travel cots and highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times due to the proximity of the river.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Sorry, Harbin House is not suitable for hen or stag parties. We politely ask that this is respected.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Tesco or Waitrose for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 3pm on the day of arrival.

How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The dining table can seat up to 20 guests.

Yes, we'd recommend the following pubs and restaurants, all within a short distance of the property:

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £5,000 during your stay at Harbin House. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can check availability and pricing and place your booking request online, or by calling our team on 01242 352 747.
When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
