And at Hillacre House in Somerset – one of England’s prettiest counties – the countryside is all around you. It’s visible from every window, from the sweeping lawns, and from the hot tub.
Turn your back on it for a moment as you step inside the gracious Georgian-style house. The entrance hall teases at what’s to come – big enough for its own fireplace and with a grand staircase curving away to the seven spacious and stylish bedrooms. This is a sociable house, with a large breakfast kitchen where you can make plans for the day, leading to a glorious lounge with deep sash windows that capture the everchanging light. At dinner time, file into the richly decorated dining room for memorable meals, then sit on the terrace overlooking the rolling hills and watch the sun set over Somerset. We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Hillacre House just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 3pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am (or 3pm if checking out on a Sunday).

How many cars can park at the property?
There is ample parking for 10 cars at the property.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Hillacre House. Travel cots and highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times around the hot tub area.

Are pets allowed?
Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed at Hillacre House, subject to a fee of £25 per dog. More dogs may be allowed by prior arrangement. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Stag parties are not permitted at this property. Respectful hen parties are sometimes permitted, but only with express permission from the property owner prior to booking. Please contact us to discuss.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Tesco for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 3pm on the day of arrival.

How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The dining table can seat up to 18 guests. There's also a smaller, family sized table in the kitchen.

Are there any noise restrictions at Hillacre House?
There are noise restrictions in place at Hillacre House whereby no external music players must be brought to the property (portable Bluetooth speakers are provided and these must be kept at a low level) and external noise must consider other neighbours nearby which means no excesses of shouting etc at any time.

The nearest train stations are Templecombe (2.5 miles) or Gillingham (11 miles).

The nearest airport is Bristol (35 miles).

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £850 during your stay at Hillacre House. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can check availability and pricing and place your booking request online, or by calling our team on 01242 352 747.
When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
