Is there a style called rustic funky? There should be because it’s the signature style of Rapunzel’s Keep near Bath. From your vantage point overlooking a 20-acre estate, enjoy a laid-back gathering of family, friends or hens (of the getting married variety). Pile into this converted barn with adjoining grain tower and flop into the red striped wraparound sofa to plan your perfect stay. You won’t need to think too hard, there’s more than enough to keep you entertained right where you are.

Start in the glass fronted swimming pool. We can all see your legs, so keep it elegant! Next, enjoy a soak in the hot tub, with water cascading from fountains, before finishing off with a soothing sauna. Make time for table tennis in the outdoor games area before getting together round the brick-built fire pit and barbecue.

Back indoors, take delight in the décor, never losing the outside views. Challenge each other on the 12ft shuffleboard, American pool table or arcade games. Stay sociable in the well-equipped kitchen-diner and make sure you discuss the sleeping arrangements. There are nine characterful ensuite bedrooms. In the main house, seven with super king beds and one - great for the hens - with three super king beds and a single. In the tower, there are two curved super king beds in two curved bedrooms. Wherever you sleep, there is a sense of opulence, gifted by rich fabrics, fluffy bathrobes and funky design details.

Rapunzel’s Keep is almost next door to Longleat Safari Park, and close to Bath, Bristol and the Cotswolds. But in reality, you probably won’t get further than that glass-walled swimming pool.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Rapunzel's Keep just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a family group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

Whatever the occasion Longslade Hall rises to it. Gather all the generations for a family party, bring the girls for some pre-wedding zen time, or make it your base for an annual friends’ reunion. Behind the mellow Georgian façade, this is a house for having fun.

Tally Hoo House

Tally Hoo House is a beautiful conversion of the original stable block, now offering a fabulous country hideaway for up to 14 lucky guests. Exposed beams and brickwork offer a sympathetic nod to its past amidst a makeover with the wow factor, including a subterranean swimming pool!

Rapunzel's Keep is set on a 20 acre Estate alongside other wonderfully quirky properties, each designed to be self-contained with their own private spaces (please see House FAQs below for details of the Estate’s ongoing development).

House FAQs

What are the check in and check out times?

Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.
How many cars can park at the property?

There is parking for around 10 cars.
Are children welcome?

Children are very welcome at Rapunzel's Keep. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times due to the outdoor pool and hot tub.
Are pets allowed?

Up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed at Rapunzel's Keep, subject to a fee of £75 per dog for 3-night stays, £100 per dog for 4-night stays or £150 per dog for week-long stays. For 4-night and week-long stays, £75 per dog is payable on booking, with the remainder payable with your balance. Please be aware of animals on the estate and the garden is not enclosed so dogs must be kept on a lead when outdoors.
Are stag and hen parties allowed?

Well behaved stag and hen parties are welcome at Rapunzel's Keep, subject to prior agreement with the property owner. Please contact us before booking to discuss.
Are additional day guests allowed at the property?

Up to five additional day guests can be invited by prior agreement, at a cost of £50 per person, per day.
How many guests can sit at the dining table?

The dining table can seat up to 24 guests.
Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?

Yes, you can order online with Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda or Morrisons for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

Is the swimming pool open all year?

The glass-ended outdoor pool is heated so can be used all year-round (please close the pool cover when not in use). The pool dimensions are 8m x 3m (depth of 1.2m).
Can you tell me more about the ongoing development on the Estate?

Rapunzel's Keep is set on a private 20 acre Estate sitting alongside other holiday properties, all cleverly designed with their own self-contained private spaces to enjoy.

The Estate is evolving, and as such there may be other properties on the estate which are undergoing renovation or development during your stay. Pricing has been designed to reflect that. Although you may see or hear some evidence of the ongoing developments, the owners are naturally keen to minimise any disruption to guests. If you have any questions, please let us know.
What is the nearest train station?

The nearest train stations are Westbury, Frome or Warminster (all approximately 4 miles away).
What is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Bristol (29 miles).
Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at Rapunzel's Keep. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
