Converted from 18th century agricultural buildings, this handsome cottage, sleeping up to 14 guests, is the very essence of Cornwall, with original stone walls, flower-filled gardens and far-reaching views.
Relax in beautiful rooms, where exposed stonework celebrates history, while timber and glass craftsmanship lends a modern twist. Gather round the kitchen table to plan your days - the coast, the moors, the villages and castles. Alternatively, make it a day of badminton, table tennis and croquet in the lawned gardens. Slip away to the barrel sauna and ice bath in the garden or stay indoors and perch on a deep window seat with a Daphne du Maurier novel. Later, get back together in the sitting room, where the sleek wood burner casts a warm glow.
Check the weather when you’re ready to eat; the elevated terrace is made for sunny days, and you can linger with after dinner stories as you light the outdoor fire and watch the sun set over the hillside. In the cooler months, load up the log burner in the dining room and grab drinks from the bar. With its whitewashed stone walls, upright piano and double height atrium, this atmospheric space makes every meal a special occasion. Bedtime brings seven gorgeously decorated bedrooms and five luxury bathrooms.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at Valency View just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

What are the check in and check out times?
Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival and check out is at 10am.

How many cars can park at the property?
There is parking for 7 cars at the property.

Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome at Valency View. One travel cot and two highchairs are available on request (please bring your own cot linen). Please note, parents should supervise children at all times as there are balconies, patios and terraces on different levels.

Are pets allowed?
Up to three well-behaved dogs are allowed at Valency View, for no additional charge. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, in the bedrooms or on soft furnishings. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead in the gardens due to livestock in the fields surrounding the property.

Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Sorry, Valency View is not suitable for hen or stag parties. We politely ask that this is respected. On-site parties or group events are also strictly prohibited.

Are additional day guests allowed at the property?
Up to … additional day guests can be invited by prior agreement, at a cost of £… per person.

Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?
Yes, you can order online with Sainsbury's for a delivery direct to the house. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The dining table can seat up to 14 guests. There is a separate kitchen table that seats 10-12 guests.

Is the property suitable for those with limited mobility?
Please note, Valency View is a split level property with lots of stairs, so unfortunately is not suitable for those with limited mobility.

The nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway (22 miles).

What is the nearest airport?
The nearest airports are Newquay (27 miles) or Exeter (64 miles).

Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?
Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at Valency View. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

How do I book?
You can check availability and pricing and place your booking request online, or by calling our team on 01242 352 747.
When booking, we ask for a deposit of 33% of the total price, with the balance due 12 weeks prior to your stay (or the full balance when booking within 12 weeks of your stay).
