Saxton Manor Hero Revised

Saxton Manor East of England

A NORFOLK RETREAT BURSTING WITH PERSONALITY

Drop your plans for exploring Norfolk, Saxton Manor is a destination in itself. At first glance, this 10-bedroom country mansion is simply a handsome period house. But you soon realise there’s more to Saxton Manor than history. It’s a joyful space, where old beams and exposed brickwork meet technology, entertainment and modern art.

Spread out into rooms that have playful artworks and comfy sofas. Watch a movie in the drawing room on the 10ft drop-down screen or in the sitting room with its plasma-screen home cinema system. Make cocktails in the library bar and play retro arcade games, air hockey and pool in the games room. The kitchen has a classic Aga, electric oven, induction hob and Smeg fridges, and the glamourous dining room has a cosy open fire.

When you step into the three-acre gardens, those Norfolk day trips look ever more remote. Set up a tournament on the tennis court or drop the net for basketball. Move over to the Cornilleau table tennis table, then play football, croquet and rounders with the equipment all provided. Admire the garden artwork and plant uplighters from the hot tub and make al fresco dining easy with the outdoor kitchen, supersized barbecue and two wood-burning pizza ovens. When it gets a bit nippy, gather round the fire pit for late night laughs.

With lightning fast Wi-Fi, a Bang and Olufsen sound system and TVs, and even an iPad controlled chandelier(!), the up-to-the-minute tech is designed to enhance your stay. There are 10 super comfy bedrooms and you can be fully self-catering or enjoy a catered service (additional cost). And, if you do find time to explore the area, it’s close to city, beach and the Norfolk Broads.

Topleft Bottomright

What we think

Saxton Manor is such an exciting addition to Big House Experience. I love how it’s both a great place for fun and frolics (check out that games room!) but also has loads of offerings and provisions for corporate stays too.
